Our Children

Dr Rashmi Rajvanshi:  Rashmi is our second child after Mohan. She was born on 8 November, 1949 at Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh. She grew up under the loving care of our father. She was studying in a convent school at Allahabad,  when we moved to Ajmer in January 1958, where she joined     Sophia Girls Higher Secondary School at Ajmer. Thereafter, when we moved to Jodhpur in November 1961,  she  joined St Patrik’s Vidya Bhawan  at Jodhpur and went on to complete her studies for  Higher Secondary  from there. Subsequently, she moved to Lady Harding Medical College at Delhi in 1968 and completed her MBBS from there in 1973. She was a quiet, simple and talented girl and had the opportunities and potential for going further  for  higher studies.  However,  the   life   takes   many   twists   and   turns.   Her marriage was settled and she   was married   to  Dr Hemendra Kumar Rajvanshi on 26 December 1973 at Jodhpur, with all the fanfare and gaiety.  Marriage of Rashmi   was the biggest family celebration of our family,  which was attended by all members of our family,   members of our extended families, family friends and other distinguished guests.

Dr Hemendra Rajvanshi had completed his MBBS from Sawai Man Singh Medical College Jaipur and was working in Medical and Health Department of Rajasthan. After the marriage, the couple moved to Uttar Pradesh and  worked there for some time, in the Medical and Health Department of Uttar Pradesh.  Thereafter, both of them joined Medical and Health Department of Rajasthan as Medical Officers.  Sometimes in 1983,  Hemendra  went to Libya on a contract assignment as medical officer.    Rashmi  utilised this opportunity  to join post graduate studies in  Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Dr SN Medical College Jodhpur.  She  completed her MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology   in 1984. Thereafter, Hemendra and Rashmi  continued to work in the medical and health department of the Government of Rajasthan. After their retirement from the services of the Government of Rajasthan,  they started   Rajvanshi Hospital at Balotra. Rashmi was extremely popular there as a gynaecologist. They finally moved to Jodhpur and have been living in their apartment in Umaid Heritage, where they are  working on their creative urges and   are leading a   comfortable and  physically active  social life.

Dr Rashmi Rajvanshi and Dr Hemendra Rajvanshi have two daughters. The elder daughter  Poshika Rajvanshi completed her BE in Production and Industrial Engineering from MBM Engineering College Jodhpur in 1998. Poshika was married to Prashant Paliwal in July 1998.  Prashant Paliwal had  completed his BE in Computer Engineering from MBM Engineering College Jodhpur in 1998.  After their marriage in July 1998, the couple moved to Cincinnati in USA, where Poshika completed her Masters in Industrial Engineering and Prashant completed his Masters in Computer Engineering. Thereafter, the couple worked for about ten years at Boston before moving to Bangalore in India with their son Siddhant. Siddhant is a bright, up-coming child. He is  in the final year of Higher Secondary  at Bangalore.

The younger daughter of  Hemendra and Rashmi is Dr Meghna Rajvanshi. She is a very simple, soft speaking, bright and talented girl. She completed her M.Sc in Biotechnology from Banasthali Vidyapeeth in Rajasthan and PhD from IIT Bombay.  She is presently working as a senior research scientist with Reliance Industries at Mumbai. She was  married to Dr Amit Agrawal at Allahabad on January 9,  2002. Amit Agrawal completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur and thereafter, he completed his PhD from the University of Delevare in USA,  followed by a post doctoral stint in Australia.  Presently, he is working as a Senior Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Dean of international relations at IIT Bombay.  The couple   have a  daughter Tarini. Tarini is a bright and talented girl. She is presently pursuing studies for Higher Secondary at Mumbai.

Alok Goel: Alok is our third child. He was born on 16 June 1952 at Lucknow. He grew up under the loving care of our father and fondling from his elder siblings Mohan and Rashmi. He was a  carefree and  healthy child. After his  early schooling at Allahabad and Ajmer, he completed Higher Secondary from Jodhpur and thereafter, he completed his studies for BE in Mechanical Engineering from MBM Engineering College Jodhpur in 1975. He was fond of outdoor games and sports and represented MBM engineering College and University of Jodhpur as a playing member and as a captain. After graduation as a mechanical engineer, he was picked up by Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation,  where he was involved in the nationalization programme of the corporation and  rubbed shoulders with the workers in depots and regional workshops. The hard work and experience was helpful in his selection as transport manager of Guyana Electric Corporation, where he was involved in  multi-city operations of a fleet of worn out  busses received by the corporation, under aid programmes from different countries.  Thereafter, he had a short spell of teaching at Harare Polytechnic in Zimbabwe, which was followed by completion of Master’s degree in manufacturing systems at Liverpool in United Kingdom and subsequent immigration to Canada. With all the academic   knowledge, field experience and management skills, the struggle of Alok began to shape up again for finding satisfying work in Canada. The need for  specialized courses  for upgradation of job skills soon followed and involved a lot of hardwork and rigour. He is presently, settled in Missisauga in Canada  in  a happy and satisfying environment, with  flourishing business and servicing units and a large circle of family friends and relations.

Alok Goel was married to Gauri Rajvanshi daughter of Mool Chand Rajvanshi   at Nohar in December 1978. The couple has a daughter Avina and  a son Aviral. Avina is married to Dr Ambar Kulshrestha. Ambar did his MBBS in India and MS and PhD from Atlanta in USA. Presently, they are settled at Atlanta in USA.  They have a daughter Aanya and a son Aarav.

Aviral is the second child of Alok and Gauri. Presently, Aviral is working as vice president of a finance firm based at Toronto. Aviral was married to Shipra Vyas and they  are living in Toronto with their daughters Misha and Mira.

Dr Nishith Goel: Nishith is our fourth child. He was born on 1 July 1954 at Lucknow in UP. He had his early schooling at Allahabad, Ajmer and Jodhpur. He completed his Higher Secondary through English medium from Mahesh Higher Secondary School Jodhpur and BE in first batch of Electronics Engineering from MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur. He was  a bright, intelligent and talented child and after a short teaching stint at MBM Engineering College, he went to Canada and completed his MASc  and Ph.D in Systems Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Thereafter, after working for some years with Northern Telecommunications, he established his own set up CISTEC, which has now grown up as CISTEL. CISTEL  is one of the progressive technology units of Ottawa. He is socially very active and  is associated with a number of charities and has a large circle of friends and admirers.

Nishith  was married to Nita Bansal daughter of Dr Jawahar Lal Bansal at Jaipur on January 7, 1985. Nita passed her BE in electronics engineering from MBM Engineering College Jodhpur and MASc from Ottawa. The couple has two daughters. The elder daughter Neha  is married to Rohit Jindal.  Presently, the couple is settled in Washington in USA. The couple have an infant child Suraj Mohan.

The younger daughter Shilpa is a simple, unassuming and talented girl.  She is  married to Alexander Eastman. Shilpa and Alex are settled in Ottawa with their  son  Kieran Eastman.

Dr Ram Goel: Ram is our fifth child. He  was born on 5 September 1956 at Allahabad. He grew up under the loving care of our father. He was simple and quiet by nature and  had a  soft heart for everybody. He had his early schooling at Ajmer and Jodhpur. Thereafter, he completed his Higher Secondary studies from Mahesh Higher Secondary School Jodhpur. Subsequently, he completed his MBBS and MS ( General Surgery ) from Dr Sampurna Nand Medical College, Jodhpur. He made a trip to Toronto  in 1983 and passed the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying   Examination   for   foreign   medical   graduates.    After   the   completion   of   his MS ( General Surgery ) in 1985 he joined Jodhpur Hospital, where he had the opportunity of growing up under the shadow of Dr RK Harneja, who had retired from Dr SN Medical College Jodhpur as professor of surgery. He started Kamla Nagar Hospital in November, 1989 with seven beds, which quickly grew into a popular hospital with 100 beds, leading all the way  in surgical procedures and patient care. He is extremely social and tries to help almost everybody. He is well known in western Rajasthan for his free surgery camps and patient care.

Dr Ram Goel was married to Dr Bina Gupta daughter of Banwarilal Gupta proprietor of Natraj Restaurant at Jaipur on 13 February 1986.  Before marriage,  Bina  was working as a Lecturer in Gynaecology at Zanana Hospital of Sawai Mansingh Medical College Jaipur.  After marriage, she was transferred  to Umed Hospital of Dr SN Medical College Jodhpur. However, after some time,  she left her job in the medical college  and got involved whole time  for the development and growth of Kamla Nagar Hospital with Ram.

The couple have a daughter Sugandha Goel, who is married to Dr Prakash Chaudhary  son of Shri Sharad Kedarmal Chaudhary of Ahmedabad.  Sugandha completed her MBBS from Bhavnagar and MS in  Gynaecology from Jodhpur. Thereafter, she did a fellowship in fertility and childcare at Ahmedabad.   Prakash has done his MBBS, MS and MCh from Ahmedabad. He is a Urologist. Presently, Sugandha and Prakash  are working with Ram and Bina at Kamla Nagar Hospital. They have a son Pranshul, who is an extremely active child, full of energy.  Thereafter,  they were  blessed with a daughter Presha  in the middle of April 2020. The child is intelligent, quiet and lively and has brought all round happiness and cheer to the whole family.

Dr Roopam Gupta: Roopam is our sixth child. She was born on 31 January 1959 at Ajmer. She grew up freely, under the loving care of  our father. She had her early education at Jodhpur and completed her Higher Secondary from St Patrik’s Vidya Bhavan Jodhpur. Thereafter, she completed her MBBS and MS in  Gynaecology in 1986 from Dr SN Medical College, Jodhpur. She was married to Dr Rajesh Kumar Gupta son of Dr Jage Ram Gupta at Delhi on 21 December 1986. Dr Rajesh Gupta completed his MBBS and MS in Opthalmology from Rajasthan. After the marriage, the couple served for some time in Saudi Arabia, before leaving for United Kingdom, where Roopam completed her MRCOG and FRCOG and Rajesh did his FRCS in Ophthalmology. Presently, Roopam  and Rajesh are working as consultants under National Health Services in  Wales.

Roopam and Rajesh have a daughter Shireen and a son Aryan.  Shireen is a simple, quiet and talented girl.  Dr Shireen Gupta has completed her MD in medicine and is married to Dr Nipun Agarwal, who is an Anaesthetist. Presently, Shireen and Nipun are working  under National Health Services at Birmingham in England.

Aryan is  a bright  and soft speaking child. He is deeply interested in games and sports and is presently pursuing his studies for business and  finance.

Reena Goyal: Reena was born on 7 August 1961 at Ajmer. She grew up under the loving care of our father and fondling by her elder siblings. She was fond of table tennis and went on to become Rajasthan champion and a national level ranked player in table tennis. She completed Higher Secondary from St Patrik’s Vidya Bhavan Jodhpur and joined BE in Electronics Engineering at MBM Engineering College, Jodhpur. When she was in third year of BE in Electronics Engineering at Jodhpur, she migrated with us to Canada in July 1982, where she completed BASc in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. She was married to Anurag Goyal son of Radhey Shyam Goyal in December 1986 at Jaipur.  Anurag Goyal had completed BE in Civil Engineering from Malaviya Regional Engineering College, Jaipur. After their marriage, the couple worked for some years at Knoxville in USA before settling down at Toronto,

The couple have two daughters, Aunshu  and Anuja. Aunshu completed her M.D. from Ireland and was working  at Toronto. She was married to Arjun in June 2020 at Toronto and is presently settled at Calgery after her marriage.

Anuja did her, BASc and MASc  in Bio-Medical Engineering and after working for a short period at Boston, she is presently working at Toronto. She was   married to  Mat in October 2019. The couple have a daughter Tamira and are happily settled with their family at Toronto.
